Hi,
Please find attached program for Friday night's All Junior Elimination. Timed and untimed proficiencies will be run during this meet as well.
Any swimmers wanting to do untimed proficiencies, you can turn up on the night and put your name down with Diana Lyons. I encourage our younger swimmers to do untimed proficencies - it's nice at the end of the season to receive a certificate. Unlike the timed proficiencies you don;t have to do all four strokes.
Any questions let me know.
Robyn

Hi Everyone,
Please see attached the program for All Junior Elimination this Friday.
As this meet is combined with the proficiencies, it is likely that there will be lane changes and combined events.
Please check in on the night and write your name on the roster. We are usually short on volunteers at this meet, so please bring a partner or senior swimmer along to help too.
Diana Lyons will collate all the non-timed proficiencies on the night, so please make sure you approach her if your swimmer is doing un-timed proficiency.
Good luck to all swimmers in gaining a proficiency and/or qualifying for All Juniors in Melbourne next month.

BASIC STEPS TO BECOMING AN OFFICIAL
- Interested? Let your swimming club know!
- Complete the free online General Principles Course (see above). On completing the online course email the officials@vic.swimming.org
.au to advise SV so you can be added into the database. Please Remeber: You will need to register and create a login before you attempt the course (or if you have already registered previously and forgotten your password - you will need to retrieve your password). - Liaise with your club to attend a workshop for the accreditation module you would like to do. Once you have done the workshop your details will be forwarded to Swimming Victoria so we know you are progressing with your training. If your club doesn't have any workshops organised at the time, they can liaise with their District and/or District Referee to arrange one.
- Practice! Now you know the theory, it is time to venture out to pool deck at your Club or District and practice the skills for the accreditation module.
- Are you ready? Liaise with your Club/District to be assessed in a practical environment. There are Assessors in each District, alternatively this can be arranged through the Swimming Victoria.
- Feedback. Talk to your Assessor about how you went. If your Assessor deems you competent, Congratulations! Once the paperwork is finalised with Swimming Victoria you will receive your Accreditation Card from Swimming Australia within 4-6 weeks. If you are not quite ready to be accredited, keep up the practice and arrange another assessment when you feel you have further developed your skills.
- Officiate! You are now ready to hit pool deck and take the best seat in the house at events! You can continue to develop yourself as an official and increase your skills by selecting other modules and becoming accredited in a variety of positions.
