SSI are pleased to advise that they have been able to secure Andrew Lauterstein (Olympic Swimming Champion) and Jo Forbes (local Personal Trainer - Jo Forbes Fitness) to conduct a coaching clinic here in Mildura on Saturday 16th November.
Please see attached flyer, I will have some copies with me today at the Sprint Meet.
Payment for clinic to be made to SSI Treasurer Carolyn Gowers at the 1st Pennant on Friday 8th November.
Some background info on Andrew -
Andrew Lauterstein has recently hung up his goggles on an illustrious swimming career, but this is only just the start for the 26 year old. Andrew was one of Australia's most successful international level swimmers across a number of disciplines in his time on the National Team (2005-2011) winning International medals in Butterfly, Freestyle and Backstroke.
The World Champion and Triple Olympic Medalist has now taken on a number of mentoring positions within the Australian Swimming community and has also delved into the business world becoming owner of Engine Swim Australia.
Always a very popular member of the Swimming World, Andrew experienced all that swimming has to offer an athlete. Moving out of home at 18 to pursue his dream, travelling the world and racing with his best friends, he has also experienced the highs and lows of the tough World that being an athlete can offer.
Sickness made the last two years of his career a constant battle, with a commitment that never faulted Andrew gave his all to the very last swim. It is this very passion for the sport and the delicate balance of life and sport that Andrew has shown his whole career that makes him the perfect role model for any inspiring athlete, or person wanting to get the most out of themselves in any facet of life.
