Afternoon All,

We are super excited to share some exciting updates with you all;

Firstly this season (November) we welcome Alison back to coach on a Monday night and Mandy on a Thursday.  These two ladies have years of experience coaching and are an asset to the club.  We will continue to see Lauren, Keeley and a few other new faces assisting with coaching this summer, giving us an exciting and experienced coaching team.  Times of training are yet to be confirmed with the proprietor of the pool and will be shared as soon as possible.

After years of campaigning by the Irymple Swimming Club we have received news that the Irymple pool will have pool blankets before the commencement of this season.  This means we will be able to utilise the Irymple pool from November right through the season.  This is a massive win for the club to be able to utilise our home pool for the whole season, a win that has been funded externally and has not financially cost us as a club.

We also recently received news that another club was wanting us to give up our date for the Irymple Open.  The Irymple open has a long history and we were keen for it to continue in November as it always has, providing an inclusive family friendly event that is our major fundraiser each year.  At last nights SSI meeting, it was confirmed that we will keep the Irymple open date and Mildura will run its own open on the 7/12/19.

Finally we are looking to see if anyone is interested in doing a first aid course on the 12 or 13/10/19, here in Irymple.  This is suitable for anyone 14 + years and will be offered for $135.  A first aid certificate is a pre requisite for any coaching position with the club and therefore some funding will be available to those who wish to go onto completing a coaching course or assist with coaching at the club.  This is open to everyone though and we need a minimum of 7 people to run the course.  Please email us if you are interested in attending asap so we can finalize it.

Looking forward to a great summer season of swimming at Irymple

Cheers
