Last Training - Tuesday 28th March

Hi Everyone,

Our last training for the season will be Tuesday 28th March at the Irymple Pool (not Thursday 30th as I told you the other night)

We would just like to take this opportunity to thank our new members this season for joining our club and to our other members thank you for your ongoing support for our swimming club.

A special thank you to Mandy for all the hours that she has put into training this season - we know you spend a lot of time planning and delivering your training session - we definitely have results in and out of the pool - thank you :-)

Also, to Alison Chloe, James, Keeley and Lauren who have assisted Mandy this season.  It's fantastic to see you all step up and help out.

We will be in touch with you soon about training over the winter.

Hi Everyone,

Please see program and roster attached.  Remember to wear your club shirts tonight.

Relays - there is relays at the end of the normal events tonight.  

Please see your club captains James and Hayley for your relay swim tonight.

Clubs Parade at start of this meet

Bring club banner, wear club shirts/caps and bring back any shields still in your club rooms.

Information about SSI winter training will be on the website soon.

The Sunraysia Swimming Inc, is our District body, all clubs are part of it. We are encouraging all parents to consider volunteering for committee positions. The AGM will be held in May, and 5 meetings are held during the year.

Our district is also in need of more qualified officials. Please consider volunteering in this field too.

Club Championships

Hi Everyone,

We will be running our Club Championships on Tuesday afternoon at the Irymple Pool instead of club training.

We will be starting at 5.30pm sharp, due to the pool closing at 6.30pm.  If you can be there a little bit earlier to set up that would be great.  We will need parents to stay and timekeep as well.

Cost is $3.50 per event - payable on the day

Club Championships are usually only open to registered competitors but this season we have decided to include members who have joined this season as recreational swimmers.  After all your training over the summer, it would be nice to give you an opportunity to compete.

Please email your entries back to this address preferably by Monday evening but I will still take them on the day.

Events are freestyle, backstroke,breaststroke and butterfly, 

1 lap up 10 years

2 laps 11 - 16 years (except butterfly which is 1 lap)

17/over - optional 1 or 2 laps

Primary School Meet - thank you

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped out with the organisation, set up, pack up and running of our annual primary school meet.  

We had almost 100 swimmers on the night and we have received some great feedback so far.

Special thanks to all the kids that helped out too with the timekeeping and other jobs on the night - you are a fantastic group of young people!!

Everyone's help is always greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately Mandy is unwell today and unable to take training at the Waves this afternoon so we will need to cancel it.

Next Thursday is our Primary School Meet so there will be no training either.

Primary School Swim Meet - Thursday 17th March

Hi Club Members,

 

We are holding our annual Primary School Swim Meet at the Irymple Pool on Thursday 17th March at 5.30pm.

 

Please see attached information and please share it with those you know who may be interested in participating.

 

We will need all our members and parents to help out on the evening with hosting, timekeeping, BBQ etc.,  It would be great to see our own senior members 13 years and up helping out as well.

 

This is a great opportunity to show everyone what a great club we have and hopefully encourage some new members.

The last blast is on the 24th March, not the 17th as earlier advertised. (All Junior's was moved a week forward)

Entries close the Sunday before (19th March). SSI Presentations will follow this meet and a parade of each club will be held before the meet. (wear club apparel and bring banner!)

All Junior entries are due Today! I have attached the meet summary below. I haven't heard from: Bertalli, Fangaloka, Hammond, Lam, Medianik, Moodoo, Neagle, Plummer (Annie Rae), Teuma, VandenBerg, Williams (Avalon), Zaffina.

If you want to go to All Junior's with your swimmer on the 18th March, please contact me asap with what strokes you want your swimmer to do.

Good luck to all Sunraysia Secondary school swimmers on Friday during the day with their Inter School competition.

Teresa is looking for a lost Sunraysia shirt. At the Inter District trip last weekend, someone went home with small/kids size shirt, and she has someone's medium size shirt. Could everyone that went on the trip please check if they have the wrong size shirt and contact Teresa if you do (0400521187)
