Fwd: SSI Polos Needed

Hi Everyone,

I am need of 4 SSI polos for swimmers going on the Inter District trip.

They are to fit average size 12 - 18 year olds.

If you have one that you are able to lend, could you please let me know.  I will make sure that the shirt will be returned in the same condition.

We are leaving first thing tomorrow morning, so I will need to collect today if possible/

T&I Last Blast, Irymple Primary Schools Meet and Club Championships

Hello Swimmers and Families,

Its hard to believe that the 2015-16 summer swimming season is almost over.  The good news is that there are still some opportunities to fit in a few more competitions.

The first one (and the last Inter-Club event) is the Sunraysia T&I Last Blast on Sunday 6th March.  The closing date is this Saturday, 27th Feb 12pm - please enter online now to avoid missing out.  Ribbons, shields and trophies for the season will be handed out at this meet.  We hope Irymple Swimming Club will be well represented.

Secondly we have our Annual Irymple Primary Schools Meet on Thursday 10th March - 5.30pm.  This meet is open to ALL swimmers attending primary school (you do not need to be a Swimming Victoria Competition Swimmer).  Any individuals can enter and will represent their school.  We hope to see some of our new members participating.  You can enter online or contact your primary school to see if they are doing a school entry. Entries close at 5pm on Wednesday 9th March. Spread the word with your friends.

And thirdly we have our Irymple Club Championships coming up in mid March.  The advertised date and time may be changed and will be advised very soon - look out for an email!

Lastly Good Luck to Avalon, Holly, Olivia, Lauren, Chloe and Keeley as they join the Sunraysia Swimming Team to represent District 10 this weekend for the Country Interdistrict Championships in Melbourne.  Have fun guys!

If swimmers finished in top 5 of age group we will automatically enter them for swimming competition at MSAC on 9-10 April 2016.

Can you please advise swimmers/parents to let us know no later than 5pm Friday 18th March if they are not intending to swim at meet to be held on 9-10 April @MSAC. (some have already advised me today)

Primary School Meet - Irymple Pool Thursday 10th March

Hi Club Members,

 

We are holding our annual Primary School Swim Meet at the Irymple Pool on Thursday 10th March at 5.30pm.

 

Please see attached information and please share it with those you know who may be interested in participating.

 

We will need all our members and parents to help out on the evening with hosting, timekeeping, BBQ etc.,  It would be great to see our own senior members 13 years and up helping out as well.

 

This is a great opportunity to show everyone what a great club we have and hopefully encourage some new members.

Results - Sunraysia District Championships

Thankyou to everyone who attended the District Championships on Friday night.  Attached are the results.

For any parents/swimmers who missed my text message today, All Junior Elimination entries are due no later than 12pm tomorrow (Monday 14th).  Preferred method of entry is online.

All Junior Eliminations are 50m events for 14yrs and under swimmers only.  Eliminations are held on 21st February at Waves.  The first 5 placegetters in each event qualify to swim in the country semi-finals held in Melbourne in April.

2nd Relay Results

Awesome effort by our little army of relay swimmers.  We won all of our eligible relay swims.  The results are attached.  Dont worry about the results showing DQ in some relays, they werent technical DQ's but rather relays that we were ineligible to receive points for.

Note:

An information package will be emailed out later this evening.  The bus will depart Mildura Waves at 10am on Friday 26th and leave Melbourne at approximately 5pm on Saturday 27th after the completion of the meet, arriving approx 12am.

Cost will be $100.00 per swimmer and $75.00 per adult.  

If you chose to travel separately from the group you are still required the full fee.  Unfortunately, due to an increase in the costs of providing this trip, we need to increase the cost to participants, SSI still continues to subsidise this trip. 

Swimmers will also be required to purchase a Sunraysia polo shirt for the trip.  

We do need a number of parents to supervise on the trip, if you would like to come along you will need to have a current Working with Children Check.

Please confirm your acceptance into the team by email entriessunraysiaswimming@gmail.com no later than 12pm Saturday 6th February.  It is very important to do this so our team entry can be submitted to Swimming Victoria.

Parents wanting to accompany the trip will also need to confirm by 12pm Saturday 6th February.

2nd Relay Program & 5th Pennant Results

Fwd: Interschool Swimming - Wednesday 24th Feb - Help Required

Hi Everyone,

The Sunraysia Secondary Schools are conducting their Interschool Swimming Carnival on Wednesday 24th from approx 9.30am - 2.00pm.

This year they are including a primary school component (?Grades 5 and 6).

SSI assist with the running of this meet and I am now looking for volunteers that will be able to help out on the day.  If you  would like to help out, please let me know.
